Afenyo-Markin donates over GHS 200,000 to support widows in Effutu

The Minority Leader in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has donated over GHS 200,000 to more than 200 widows in his constituency to support their livelihoods.

The donation was made during a community outreach event in Effutu, where many of the beneficiaries were moved to tears, describing the gesture as timely and life-changing.

Hon. Afenyo-Markin said the initiative was part of his broader commitment to social welfare and empowering vulnerable groups in the constituency.

The widows, some of whom had lost their spouses decades ago, offered heartfelt prayers for the MP’s continued success. Many hailed him as a beacon of hope and even expressed confidence in his potential to one day lead the nation as President.

The event forms part of the MP’s sustained efforts to improve the well-being of Effutu residents through interventions in education, health, and social protection.
