The family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo says they have not been informed about the exact location of his body, raising concerns over traditional expectations surrounding burial rites.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Secretary to the family, Dr. Philip Siaw Kissi, said even the deceased’s children are largely unaware of where their father’s remains have been kept.
“As I am speaking to you now, the family doesn’t even know where the body is,” he stated.
According to him, only one of the children, Adwoa Safo, appears to have knowledge of the location. He added that when the family pressed for clarity, they were told the body had been kept in a restricted place.
“It is only Adwoa Safo who knows, and when we asked, she told us the body is in a special place and that she even requires presidential permission to go there,” Dr. Kissi said.
Dr. Siaw, who doubles as a Co-Chairman of the funeral planning committee noted that while the explanation did not make sense to the wider family, they chose restraint to avoid escalating tensions.
Apostle Safo passed away on September 11, 2025.
His pioneering inventions, including the Kantanka Omama SUV and Onantefo pickup truck, remain enduring symbols of African ingenuity and resilience.
