Accra Mayor Michael Kpakpo Allotey has disclosed that the city guard who reportedly extorted money from a private car driver has been arrested and detained at the ministry police station.
Speaking to Prince Owusu Asiedu on Adom Trotro, the mayor indicated that the Accra Metropolitan Assembly has apologised to the affected driver and assured him the money the guard took will be returned to him.
He added that even though the driver said he won’t press any charges against the guard, the Assembly will still sanction her.
The Mayor also renewed calls on trotro drivers to stop overcharging passengers, urging them to stick to approved transport fares.
