Abukari Damba appointed Karela United interim coach

-

Karela United has named Abukari Damba as their interim head coach following the resignation of Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko from the position.

Abukari Damba, a former goalkeeper for the Ghana Black Stars turned coach, has been entrusted with overseeing the technical aspects of the team, taking charge until a permanent head coach is appointed.

The decision comes after Karela United faced challenges in securing favourable results during the first half of the season, finding themselves in the 17th position, perilously situated within the relegation zone.

With only 17 points from 17 games in the first round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, they are just one point away from safety.

As they gear up for the upcoming second round of the league, Karela United is diligently preparing for their match against Legon Cities at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on February 25.
