Police in the Ashanti region has arrested eight members of the vigilante group, Delta Force who stormed a court and set free suspects undergoing trial.

The group numbering over 50 allegedly stormed the Kumasi Circuit Court today Thursday in chants and taunts, broke into the court cells and freed their members who had only weeks ago chased out the Regional Security Coordinator, George Adjei appointed by the president.

This was after the judge, Mary M.E. Nsenkyire ruled the suspects be remanded for two weeks pending investigations into the case, a move that did not go down well with the members of the vigilante group who were at the court premises.

In anger, they charged at the judge and demanded the immediate release of the suspects, Nurudeen reported.

At least 13 of the suspects were freed by the vigilante group and they are Kwadwo Fosu, Awal Sadat, Abubakar siddique, Jamel Issah, Hamza Mohammed, Salou Issahak, Akwasi Wusu.

Others are Kwabena Wusu, Kofi Kyei, Agya Baodu, Yussif Salou, Yussif Salou, Kwaku Awutwi.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command after a manhunt have arrested some fo the suspect and have declared eight who are currently at large fugitives.

The 13 suspects have been ordered to report to the police and they hunt for the others.

The suspects were facing four counts of conspiracy to commit crime, assault on public officer, causing unlawful harm and rioting. They pleaded not guilty to all counts.
