The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Ashanti Region has intensified community fire safety education to promote fire prevention and improve emergency preparedness among residents and businesses.

The outreach covered Jacobu, Boamang, Amoako and Oforikrom, where fire safety teams educated residents, traders, food vendors, artisans and business operators on electrical safety, LPG handling, cooking safety and the safe use of heat-producing equipment.

The teams also promoted the “Operation One House, One Fire Extinguisher/Fire Sticker” initiative and demonstrated the PASS method of using fire extinguishers.
As part of the campaign, the GNFS engaged the public on Boss 93.7 FM and Ash 101.1 FM, highlighting the importance of reporting fire emergencies promptly, avoiding prank calls and knowing how to contact the Service.

The public was urged to make fire prevention a priority in their homes, workplaces and businesses.
