Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated the newly elected national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the party’s 2026 National Annual Delegates Conference in Kumasi.

In a Facebook post, he commended the outgoing National Executive Committee, led by former Acting National Chairman Danquah Smith Buttey, the National Officers Elections Committee chaired by Frederick Opare Ansah, and all delegates for what he described as the successful organisation and conduct of the conference.

He said the conference demonstrated the strength and vibrancy of the NPP’s internal democratic processes.

Mr Akufo-Addo also congratulated the newly elected national executives, led by National Chairman John Boadu, and wished them a fruitful tenure.

He urged the party to use the conclusion of the conference as a starting point for a united effort towards the 2028 general elections.

“The time has come for all hands on deck so that the Party can emerge victorious from the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections,” he said.

According to the former President, victory in 2028 would pave the way for an NPP government under the leadership of the party’s presidential candidate, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

He said such a government would seek to promote the rule of law and improve the welfare of ordinary Ghanaians.

Mr Akufo-Addo concluded his message with a prayer for the NPP and Ghana, saying: “May God bless the New Patriotic Party and may God bless our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong.”
