Ghana’s Black Queens will face Mauritius in the second round of the African qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The Black Queens will travel to Mauritius for the first leg on Thursday, 8 October 2026, before hosting their opponents in the return leg on Tuesday, 13 October, in Ghana.
Mauritius booked their place in the second round after defeating Djibouti 3-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round.
They secured a 2-1 home victory in the first leg before completing the tie with a 1-0 win in the return fixture.
Ghana were among 29 countries to receive a bye through the preliminary round and will enter the competition at the second of five knockout stages.
The Black Queens, one of Africa’s leading women’s national teams, are yet to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Their meeting with Mauritius presents Ghana with another opportunity to advance through the qualifying rounds and continue their pursuit of a historic first appearance at the Olympics.
The 2028 Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles, United States.
