Phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Terry or Dinero, has been found dead days after he was reported missing following a suspected meeting with a client at Teshie in Accra.
His family confirmed the development in a statement, saying he was found but was not alive.
“It is with profound sadness that we share that, after his disappearance, Nana Yaw Kyere has been found. Regrettably, he was not found alive,” the family said.
The family has appealed for privacy as investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death continue.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports allege that Dinero was kidnapped, murdered and buried after being lured to the location.
According to an account attributed to his colleague, who was reportedly the last person to communicate with him, Dinero sent a WhatsApp message around midnight on Sunday claiming that he had been “set up” by a girl in a room.
He reportedly sent a photograph of the room and a location indicating Teshie.
His colleague reportedly became suspicious during the exchange because the messages did not appear consistent with Nana Yaw’s usual style of communication.
A subsequent message allegedly indicated that Nana Yaw had been released and had left the location.
However, concerns grew when he failed to return home and attempts to reach him by phone reportedly proved unsuccessful.
His car has since been retrieved, while three suspect have reportedly been arrested as investigations continue.
The family has expressed gratitude to everyone who assisted with the search and offered prayers following his disappearance.
