The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tatale-Sanguli, Mary Tagba, has urged Basare communities across the country to put aside tribal differences and unite to promote peace and accelerate development.
According to her, unity among the Basare people is crucial to preserving their cultural heritage while creating opportunities for the youth and future generations.
She made the call in an interview with Adom News Correspondent, Odehyeba Owusu Job, during the 2026 Basare Youth Association (BAYA) National Congress held at Kpandai.
The congress was held on the theme, “One People, Our Heritage, One Future.”
Mrs Tagba urged the Basare people to embrace dialogue and peaceful coexistence, stressing that meaningful development could not thrive in an environment characterised by division and conflict.
She also encouraged the youth to take an active role in promoting unity and safeguarding the cultural values and heritage of the Basare people.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Vice President of BAYA, Godson Baajike, said the congress was aimed at bringing together Basare communities from across the country to strengthen unity, peace and development.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News , Mr Baajike said BAYA had, since its inception, undertaken several initiatives to improve the livelihoods of people within Basare communities.
He disclosed that the association had supported and sponsored students from Basare communities to pursue tertiary education.
Mr Baajike said BAYA would continue to mobilise Basare people and stakeholders to support initiatives focused on education, peace and socio-economic development.
He further called on Basare youth to remain united and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
