Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of Congolese centre-back Aristote Tamuzi on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The 27-year-old’s move to the Porcupine Warriors was confirmed on Friday after he successfully completed his medical examination in Kumasi.
Tamuzi joins Kotoko from AS New Soger and brings experience from a spell in Eswatini, where he established himself as a dependable defender.
The robust centre-back is expected to add strength and leadership to Kotoko’s defensive line as the club prepares for a campaign in which they will be seeking domestic honours.
Tamuzi is known for his strong tackling and aerial ability, while his durability has also been highlighted after he featured in more than 60 matches over the past two seasons.
The Congolese defender said he was aware of the expectations that come with playing for one of Africa’s most recognised clubs but insisted he was ready to embrace the challenge.
“Asante Kotoko is a historical club in Africa and Ghana, and I am delighted to be here. I am aware of the pressure, but we will work hard to please the supporters. I am here to work.”
Tamuzi becomes the latest addition to a Kotoko squad being strengthened ahead of the new Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors will begin their league season away against newly promoted Debibi United as they seek to mount a challenge for the domestic title.
Before the start of the league campaign, Kotoko will face arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2026 Democracy Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday as part of their preparations for the new season.
