A joint team of the Ghana Army and Ghana Police Service has arrested 11 suspects and retrieved a pump-action gun and live ammunition during an intelligence-led operation at Kromase, near Nkwanta in the Oti Region.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen security and address emerging threats in the area.

Led by Combat Team Commander, Major Muktar Saani, the team carried out a cordon-and-search operation, during which it recovered a pump-action gun, live ammunition, body armour and a police uniform.
The operation formed part of Exercise STARLIGHT STRETCH III, an ongoing Ghana Army initiative aimed at enhancing operational readiness and responding effectively to emerging security threats.

The exercise ended at about 8:30 a.m., after which the 11 suspects and the seized items were transported to the operational base for further investigations.

The successful operation highlights the importance of collaboration between the security agencies and the use of intelligence-led strategies to safeguard lives and property and maintain peace in the Oti Region.
