One dead, eight injured in accident on Kasoa-Winneba road

One person has died and eight others sustained injuries after a water tanker collided head-on with a Toyota Voxy at Tipper Junction along the Kasoa–Winneba Road.

The accident occurred on Saturday, August 15, prompting an emergency response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

Firefighters from the Buduburam Fire Station were dispatched to the scene and rescued eight injured victims who were trapped following the crash.

The victims were subsequently transported to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa for medical attention.

However, one of the victims later died from injuries sustained in the accident despite efforts to save them.

The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles, with the Toyota Voxy suffering extensive damage, particularly around the engine compartment, while the water tanker sustained partial damage.

The identities of the deceased and injured victims have not yet been disclosed.

The exact cause of the accident is also yet to be established, as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.
