The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has indefinitely postponed the matriculation ceremony for its 2026 Sandwich students, which was scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, the decision follows the ongoing strike by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).

The university said the industrial action has affected critical administrative processes required to organise the ceremony.

“Management regrets any inconvenience this postponement may cause affected students, their families, and staff,” the statement said.

UCC assured students and the wider university community that a new date for the ceremony would be announced once normal administrative activities resume.

The postponement affects all 2026 Sandwich students who were scheduled to be formally matriculated on Saturday.

Management expressed appreciation to students, staff and other stakeholders for their cooperation and understanding.
