Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer Morris Babyface has opened up about a deeply painful childhood experience, revealing that he was sexually abused by a female house help when he was a young boy.
The 46-year-old made the disclosure during an interview on The Delay Show, describing it as the first time he had publicly spoken about the experience.
Morris Babyface said the abuse happened when he was between 9 to 12 years old, involving a female house help who was significantly older than him.
According to him, his mother had employed the woman to care for him and his siblings after school while she was away at work.
Although the experience happened many years ago, Morris Babyface said its effects remained with him subconsciously and later influenced aspects of his life and relationships.
He explained that the experience contributed to his struggles with promiscuity and womanising lifestyle.
“It really impacted me, because there came a time when in a day I had to sleep with about 4 women. Some were relationships, others casual flings. Some were protected sex, others were not. It went on daily for years…Looking back, I thank God I did not contract any illness. I realized when you give the devil an inch, he takes you farther than you can go.”
The reason for his revelation, he said, is for parents to be cautious of their home environment, especially when leaving their children in the care of others.
