For most people, sitting through traffic is just another part of daily life. For Wanlov the Kubolor, however, it is something he simply cannot tolerate.

The musician has opened up about his long-standing preference for motorbikes over cars, revealing that his decision has little to do with style and everything to do with his dislike for spending hours stuck in traffic.

Speaking in an interview, Wanlov disclosed that he has relied heavily on motorbikes for the past three years because traffic congestion makes him feel as though precious moments of his life are slipping away.

According to him, being trapped in traffic is so frustrating that he often abandons his journey altogether.

“I feel traffic is something that eats my soul. Like when I’m in traffic in a car, if I’m not driving, I’ll get down and I’ll sit somewhere till traffic is gone or I’ll get Okada. If I’m driving, I’ll park and walk somewhere and come back later. I can’t sit in traffic.”

Wanlov went on to share a thought that frequently crosses his mind whenever he sees long queues of vehicles on the road. He believes many people underestimate how much of their lives are spent sitting in traffic.

“I feel like in the final minutes of my life, if I sit down and calculate the years I spent in traffic; if every day you are spending three to four hours in traffic, that’s about three and a half years of your full life sitting in traffic. Can you imagine what you have lost? Three years just because of traffic.

For him, that realization is enough motivation to keep choosing two wheels over four.

His comments have since sparked conversations online, with some agreeing that traffic congestion in major cities consumes a significant portion of people’s lives, while others joked that Wanlov may have found the ultimate solution to beating the daily gridlock.
