The editor of The Herald newspaper, Larry Alans Dogbey, has been granted bail after being sentenced to seven days imprisonment for contempt of court by an Accra High Court on Thursday.

Justice Isaac Addo found Dogbey guilty of contempt in connection with articles published by The Herald about a legal dispute between businessman Kevin Okyere, Founder and CEO of Springfield Exploration and Production Limited, and Petraco SA.

The court held that Dogbey had violated an interlocutory injunction that restrained him from publishing further statements on the matter — specifically relating to a petition filed by Petraco SA against Okyere.

He was sentenced to seven days imprisonment but was subsequently granted bail.
