The family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka has firmly stated that none of its members were present at the church ceremony on Sunday where former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Adwoa Safo was reportedly shot.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Dr. Philip Siaw Kissi, Secretary to the Apostle’s family, stressed that the family had no involvement or direct knowledge of the incident because they were not there.
“No family member was present during the ceremony that led to the shooting incident, so we can’t immediately speak to it,” Dr. Kissi said. “Since the death, we have not even seen the body of our relative, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, so that is our priority now.”
He explained that the family is currently focused on retrieving the body for burial and making their own arrangements, separate from the church’s rites.
“So for us as a family, our interest is to get the body of our relative… and burying him,” he added. “The family have our arrangements, likewise the church. They are doing their things and rites.”
Dr. Kissi noted that the family plans to meet internally first before deciding on any further public statements.
“We’re planning to meet as a family, and whatever comes up and it becomes necessary, we will make it public,” he said. “So I can’t say I saw A or B at the ceremony because we were not there.”
Dr. Siaw emphasised that they were completely absent from the event and are currently preoccupied with laying their late relative to rest.
