The Asante Akyem South Municipal Assembly, together with the Juaso Traditional Council, has officially cut sod for the construction of a modern 24-hour economy market at Juaso in the Asante Akyem South Municipality.

The 24-hour market initiative, a key policy intervention and campaign commitment by the NDC, is aimed at boosting local economic growth and enhancing trading activities.

Speaking to Adom News, the Municipal Chief Executive, Maame Sarfoa Appiah, said the 24-hour economy policy is expected to create jobs for the youth. She urged politicians not to politicise the project and instead put Ghana first.

“Let’s put Ghana first. This project is not about politics. It is about creating jobs for our young people and improving livelihoods in this municipality.”

Meanwhile, Nana Owosoadortor Oduro Frimpong, Kyeidomhene of Juaso, expressed appreciation to the government for the initiative, noting that it would boost economic activities and improve livelihoods.

“We are grateful for this project. It will go a long way to improve business activities and enhance the living conditions of our people.”
