President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has set an ambitious target for the Black Starlets, urging the team to go all the way and win the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The team has already departed Ghana ahead of the tournament, with expectations high following their successful qualification campaign—ending a long absence from the competition.

Addressing the players and technical staff, Okraku described their qualification as a significant moment for Ghana football, calling it a potential turning point after years without participation at the youth level.

He encouraged the squad to step onto the continental stage with belief and determination.

“For years, we have not been able to qualify for the AFCON. But you have done it this time,” he said.

“This year is a year of turnaround for Ghana football, and it starts with you. I have absolute confidence in this team, the quality your technical team has put together and all the preparations you have gone through. Don’t just go and qualify for the World Cup, but also put Ghana back where we belong by winning it. Believe in yourself, and you can do it.”

Okraku also reminded the players of the weight of the national jersey, urging them to draw inspiration from past generations who achieved success on the continental and global stage.

“You are carrying the hopes of millions of Ghanaians. When you step onto that pitch, remember that you are not alone—an entire nation stands behind you,” he added.

Ghana has been drawn in Group D alongside Algeria, Senegal, and South Africa.
