A fire outbreak at the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) facility of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in Sunyani has been successfully contained following a swift response by the Ghana National Fire Service.

Firefighters from the Nsoatre Fire Station were the first to respond, arriving promptly at the scene to assess the situation and begin firefighting operations. They were later joined by a reinforcement team from the Sunyani Municipal Fire Station to help bring the blaze under control.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames emanating from the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) facility, a key installation responsible for digital television transmission.

Acting swiftly, the team deployed the necessary firefighting equipment to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjoining installations and other parts of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation compound.

Through coordinated efforts, the fire was brought under control and later fully extinguished, averting what could have resulted in extensive damage to broadcasting equipment and possible service interruptions.

No injuries or fatalities were recorded in the incident.

Officials say preliminary assessments are ongoing to determine the extent of damage caused, while investigations have been launched to establish the exact cause of the fire.
