Promasidor Ghana Limited has confirmed the death of its Southern Sector Sales Lead, Patrick Osei Oware, following a fatal road crash at Suhyin on the Koforidua–Tafo Highway.
In a statement issued on May 3 and signed by its Corporate Communications and Public Relations Lead, Paa Kwesi Forson, the company said it received news of the incident “with profound shock and sorrow.”
“The loss of our colleague is a painful one. We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones,” the statement said.
The accident occurred on Saturday, May 2, 2026, when Mr Osei Oware was reportedly driving towards Koforidua. Eyewitnesses say a Hyundai H400 vehicle, which was attempting to overtake a motorcycle, veered into his lane, forcing him to take evasive action. In the process, his vehicle reportedly swerved off the road and crashed into a tree, leading to his death at the scene.
Mr Osei Oware, popularly known as “Pomo,” was widely respected in Ghana’s marketing and business circles. He previously served as Marketing Manager at Promasidor Ghana Limited, with oversight responsibility for operations in the Eastern, Ashanti, Volta, and Greater Accra regions.
His death has been described by colleagues as a major loss to the company and the wider corporate community.
Promasidor has also appealed to the public to refrain from sharing images and videos from the crash scene, urging respect for the privacy of the bereaved family during this difficult period.
“We respectfully appeal to the public to exercise restraint in sharing images and videos from the horrific accident. As we mourn our beloved colleague, we also urge respect for the privacy of the family,” the company added.
The company says it stands in solidarity with the family and loved ones as they come to terms with the loss.
