Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the Black Stars deliver an impressive performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana, four-time African champions, are preparing for their fifth appearance at football’s biggest tournament, which will be staged across United States, Canada and Mexico.
Despite qualification, the Black Stars have faced criticism in recent months over a series of underwhelming performances.
Speaking on Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM, the Buem MP said he remains focused on helping the national team succeed on the global stage.
“I am doing everything possible to ensure that we do things the right way,” Mr Adams said.
“I am not nervous, but I am rather calculated in doing things, and if I am convinced about what I am doing, nothing stops me.
“Pressure will come, but I will not let it consume me as a Sports Minister,” he added.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England on June 23. They will conclude their group-stage fixtures against Croatia on June 27.
As part of preparations for the tournament, Ghana are scheduled to play international friendlies against Mexico later this month and Wales on June 2.
