The Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Iddie Adams, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at his palace in Accra as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between government and traditional leadership in sports development.
The visit was aimed at seeking the blessings and support of the Ga State for upcoming national sporting activities, while also reinforcing the role of traditional authorities in promoting unity and youth development through sports.

During the engagement, the Minister highlighted key upcoming events, including the Senior Athletics Championship and the African Armwrestling Championships, both scheduled to be hosted in Accra.
He noted that the events will not only showcase Ghana’s sporting talent but also boost the country’s image on the continental stage.

Hon. Adams also commended the Ga Mantse for his leadership and commitment to creating a peaceful environment that supports governance and youth empowerment.
In response, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II underscored the importance of sports as a unifying force, stressing that it plays a critical role in national development and cultural promotion.

He urged the Minister to leverage Ghana’s cultural heritage to promote the country during international competitions and called for unity, discipline, and focus within national teams.
The Ga Mantse further encouraged players and officials to wear the national colours with pride, describing it as a symbol of unity and patriotism.

He concluded with prayers for Ghana’s national teams, particularly the Black Stars, to excel in their respective competitions and bring honour to the country.
