Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is expected in Rabat today for an official visit focused on recent developments in African football.

The trip follows a controversial ruling by CAF’s judicial bodies over the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which was awarded as a 3-0 victory to Morocco. The decision has been challenged by the Senegalese Football Federation, which has escalated the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

While in Rabat, Motsepe is scheduled to hold talks with Fouzi Lekjaa, head of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, along with other key stakeholders.

A press conference is also expected, during which CAF will provide further clarity on its recent decisions and broader issues affecting football across the continent.

The Morocco visit follows a recent stop in Senegal and forms part of a wider diplomatic tour aimed at addressing post-AFCON tensions and resolving the dispute between the two nations.
