Former Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito has left the door open for a possible return to the club in the future.
Zito initially took over as interim coach midway through the 2024/25 season, succeeding Prosper Narteh Ogum.
During his tenure, he led the team to an impressive trophy haul, winning the FA Cup, Toyota Cup, President’s Cup, and the Champion of Champions title. His success earned him confirmation as the club’s head coach.
However, his stint ended after Kotoko were eliminated from the FA Cup by Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Stadium, prompting Zito to resign.
Now coaching lower-tier side AshantiGold 04, Zito remains a committed supporter of Kotoko and has not ruled out returning.
“I don’t know. I honestly don’t know,” Zito told Akoma FM when asked about the possibility of rejoining the Porcupine Warriors.
“But one thing is certain—I am still Kotoko, and I will continue to be Kotoko for the rest of my life. Go and look at my car; you’ll see the flag there.
“Oh, it might be possible. One day, I could come back. But for now, this chapter is closed. Next time, we’ll see,” he added.
In the meantime, Prince Yaw Owusu has been appointed interim coach for the remainder of the season.
