Former Dormaa West MP Ali Maiga Halidu has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect a competent and grassroots-focused national organiser to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference to declare his intention to contest the position, Halidu stressed the need for strong leadership at the grassroots level to reinforce party structures from the polling station to the national level.

He called on delegates to support him, noting that his political experience equips him to mobilise the party effectively and help secure victory in 2028.
“Effective grassroots organisation is critical in supporting our presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia, and ensuring the party’s success in the next elections,” he said.
Meanwhile, Atiwa West MP and former Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei Asare endorsed Halidu, highlighting his experience and dedication to the party.
Several NPP members also expressed their support for Halidu’s bid during interviews with Adom News.
