The Black Queens of Ghana made a commanding start to their 2026 Pink Ladies Cup campaign, sweeping aside Hong Kong with a resounding 4-0 victory on Saturday afternoon in the United Arab Emirates.

The encounter, staged at the Al-Hamriya Sports Club Stadium, saw the Queens grow steadily into the contest after a measured opening spell. Their patience paid off in the 28th minute when FC Nordsjaelland forward Princess Marfo capped a slick team move with a composed finish to break the deadlock.

Momentum quickly swung in Ghana’s favour. Just ten minutes later, Doris Boaduwaa pounced on a defensive lapse to double the advantage, calmly slotting home to hand the West Africans a comfortable cushion at the interval.

The Queens resumed with renewed intent after the break. Nottingham Forest attacker Chantelle Hlorkah-Boye extended the lead to 3-0, reacting sharply after Hong Kong struggled to clear a dangerous corner delivered by Comfort Yeboah.

Boaduwaa had the opportunity to add a fourth from the penalty spot in the 54th minute after winning the spot-kick herself, but her effort was kept out.

There was still time for a flourish. Ampem Darkoa Ladies forward Ajegipina Zakaria crowned her debut with a superb late strike, putting the seal on an authoritative performance.

The victory sets a positive tone for Ghana, who will now shift focus to recovery before their next assignment against Russia on Tuesday, March 3, at the same venue.

The Pink Ladies Cup fixtures serve as vital preparation for the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where the Black Queens will aim to fine-tune their squad ahead of the continental showpiece.
