The Ministry of Education has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to speed up investigations into the recent attack on teachers at West Africa Secondary School (WASS).
The incident, which occurred on Friday, February 13, reportedly involved a student who allegedly mobilised a group of individuals to enter the school premises and assault members of the teaching staff.
Speaking to Accra-based 3FM, the Press Secretary to the Minister of Education, Hashmin Mohammed, assured the public that those responsible would face consequences once identified.
“Schools are meant to be safe havens for learning, and we cannot allow a few truant students to disrupt others pursuing their academic goals. The Ministry of Education is taking this matter very seriously,” he said.
He added, “The Minister has directed GES to take decisive action regarding the assault on teachers.”
