A fire that broke out at a cluster of makeshift commercial and residential structures near SoccerBet, Tudu, has completely destroyed seven rooms.
Other losses included household items and GH¢1,200 in cash, according to a preliminary report by the Ghana National Fire Service.
Meanwhile, 18 other rooms and their contents were successfully salvaged.
The blaze, which started at 1:15 p.m., quickly spread through the building, prompting firefighters to respond within minutes. The first team arrived promptly but faced challenges due to rapid fire spread, limited water supply, and accessibility issues.
Due to the severity of the fire, three additional fire tenders were called in to assist with containment. It took several hours to fully extinguish the blaze.
No casualties were reported. Authorities say an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire as residents and property owners assess their losses.
