The Oti Regional Operations Commander of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Elvis Ntow, has assured residents of the Nkwanta South Municipality of adequate security throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities, following intensified joint operations by the police and military.
According to DSP Ntow, security agencies have taken firm control of the municipality, with enhanced measures in place to deter crime and ensure a peaceful holiday period.
He stressed that residents have no cause for alarm, as law enforcement personnel are fully deployed to protect lives and property before, during and after the festivities.
“There is no need for panic. The joint security services are on the ground to guarantee total peace,” he said.
The assurance was given after a joint route march through the principal streets of Nkwanta by personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghana Police Service. The exercise, which featured coordinated drills, chants and motivational songs, was intended to demonstrate the readiness of security agencies to confront criminal activities and maintain public safety.
DSP Ntow issued a strong warning to individuals who may be planning to disrupt the peace, noting that any attempt to cause trouble would be met with swift action.
“Let me caution those who intend to create chaos in Nkwanta that they will be dealt with by the law. Peace will prevail during and after the festive season,” he stated.

He also called on residents to be security conscious and cooperate fully with law enforcement officers to sustain the calm currently being restored in the municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Joseph Antwi Awal, praised the police and other security agencies for their professionalism and commitment to restoring stability in the area.
He noted that their efforts have helped bring back a sense of normalcy and renewed confidence in local economic activities.
Mr. Antwi Awal further urged residents to comply with existing curfew directives, adding that security patrols would be intensified to safeguard both residents and property during the holidays.
