MTN Ghana has put smiles on the faces of nursing mothers at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) in Accra after donating 150 baby Christmas hampers to mothers in the maternity ward as part of its Christmas outreach.
The donation was made during a visit by officials of MTN Ghana, where assorted baby and essential Christmas items were presented to support mothers who had recently given birth, helping to ease their burden during the festive season.

Speaking to Adom News after the presentation, MTN Ghana’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Wiafe, said the initiative forms part of a long-standing tradition of giving back to society.
“This is something we have been doing over the years. At MTN Ghana, supporting our communities, especially mothers and children have always been a key part of our commitment to Ghana,” she said.

Ms. Wiafe reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting its customers and communities, particularly during the festive season.
“Christmas is a time of sharing and caring, and this initiative is our way of standing with mothers and their newborns as they begin a new journey,” she added.
She also used the opportunity to caution customers and partners to remain vigilant against mobile money fraud, which tends to increase during the festive period.

“This is the time fraudsters try all means to scam people. We are urging our customers and partners to stay alert, protect their MoMo PINs, and avoid sharing personal information with anyone,” she cautioned.
Ms. Wiafe further disclosed that the initiative is not limited to Accra, noting that MTN Ghana is extending similar support to about 30 hospitals across all 16 regions of Ghana.
“This outreach is happening nationwide. We are supporting about 30 hospitals across the country because we want to make a meaningful impact in every region,” she noted.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Charles Takyi, expressed appreciation to MTN Ghana for its continued support to the hospital.
“We are very grateful to MTN Ghana for this kind gesture. As a teaching hospital, we face numerous challenges, and support like this goes a long way to help both the hospital and our patients,” he said.
Dr. Takyi also called on other institutions and corporate bodies to emulate MTN Ghana’s example by supporting healthcare facilities across the country.
“We encourage other corporate organizations to support health institutions, as partnerships like this greatly improve patient care,” he added.

Over the years, MTN Ghana has remained committed to supporting underprivileged communities through its corporate social responsibility initiatives, both in Ghana and beyond.
This year’s Christmas outreach once again reflects the company’s dedication to social impact and community wellbeing.
