President John Dramani Mahama has strongly denied claims that he owns the Chain Homes residential estate, describing the allegations as false and misleading.
Speaking during a community interaction with residents on Monday, December 22, 2025, President Mahama clarified that his stay in the estate has no connection to ownership.
He explained that he and his family moved into the neighbourhood after facing challenges in securing a suitable rental property elsewhere. The house they occupy is privately owned and was handed over to Chain Homes for rental purposes.
The President stressed that his decision to live in the estate was purely for accommodation and not as an investment.
Addressing the long-standing rumours about his alleged ownership, President Mahama spoke light-heartedly, saying that if the claims were true, residents would have acquired their homes illegally.
