The Paramount Chief of Mim in the Ahafo Region, Okofrobuor Nana Dr Yaw Agyei II, has urged Ghanaians to harness the country’s rich cultural diversity as a tool for unity and national development.

He made the appeal at the climax of a week-long celebration, the Mim Cultural Week Renaissance. According to the chief, cultural differences should not divide people but rather serve as a unifying force to accelerate development.

Nana Dr Yaw Agyei II expressed satisfaction with the participation of people from different ethnic backgrounds living in Mim, who came together to showcase their cultures in harmony. He described the display as a positive example of how cultural tolerance and mutual respect can strengthen national cohesion.

The Paramount Chief noted that Ghana’s culture is beautiful and diverse, urging citizens to embrace one another’s traditions to foster unity and peaceful coexistence.

He also called for collective support toward the creation of Mim as a district, stressing that such a move would fast-track development in the area.

“Despite being one of the largest communities in the country, Mim continues to lag behind in development. Residents must unite and support traditional leaders in the quest for district status to improve livelihoods,” he said.
