The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested 33 suspects following a series of intelligence-led operations across the region ahead of the festive season.

The early morning operations on December 16 and 17, 2025, targeted crime-prone areas including Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduata, Senya Breku, and surrounding communities.

According to the Police Command, the exercise is part of broader efforts to clamp down on criminal activities before, during, and after Christmas, ensuring residents’ safety during the peak period.

During the swoops, officers retrieved substances suspected to be Indian hemp, quantities of Tramadol, and a toy gun. Additionally, 45 motorbikes were impounded, with verification and documentation checks ongoing.

The suspects are currently undergoing screening as investigations continue. Those found culpable will be arraigned before the courts.

The Police Command urged residents to observe basic security precautions during the festive season, including avoiding carrying large sums of money, moving in groups at night, wearing crash helmets while riding, avoiding drunk driving, and refraining from walking alone in secluded areas.

The Command also expressed appreciation to traditional authorities, community leaders, and residents for their cooperation in maintaining law and order. Officers within the region were commended for their dedication and professionalism.

The Central East Police assured the public of its readiness to maintain a crime-free festive season and warned that anyone engaging in criminal activities would be arrested and dealt with according to the law.
