Founder of Biblical Church, Pastor Appiah Biblical, has explained that his decision to accept a negotiated settlement in the case involving evangelist Nana Agradaa was influenced by repeated appeals and apologies conveyed through prominent individuals.

Speaking after court proceedings on Thursday, Osofo Appiah said that prior to the hearing, Agradaa had reached out through respected religious elders and other influential figures to apologise for her actions.

“She asked her fellow elders, prominent pastors, and influential people to apologise on her behalf. As a Christian, I chose to forgive, because who am I not to? I wasn’t supposed to let go easily because she sent thugs on eight motorbikes to assault me brutally. Looking at that alone, I shouldn’t have accepted the bargain, but I am Christ-like, so I accepted,” he said.

Osofo Appiah added that his acceptance of her apology led Agradaa to agree to a plea bargain, officially closing the case.

An Accra Circuit Court subsequently fined Nana Agradaa GH¢12,000 and ordered her to pay GH¢50,000 in compensation to Pastor Appiah Biblical over the non-consensual broadcast of intimate images on her now-defunct Thunder TV station. The court imposed no default clause, with assurances that the amounts would be paid immediately.

However, Osofo Appiah clarified that he did not pursue the case for financial gain, noting that the payment was strictly a court-ordered directive.

Meanwhile, one of Agradaa’s alleged accomplices initially challenged the court’s ruling, leading to a separate case. That challenge has since been withdrawn, and the matter is scheduled for further proceedings on December 19.

The ruling effectively resolves the case against Nana Agradaa, while the separate case involving her alleged accomplice remains before the court.
