The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has assured that the long-standing furniture shortage at Taviefe Senior High School will soon be addressed.
He made the assurance in an interview with Adom News following an appeal by the school’s Headmaster, Mr Sadrack Abiwu, during the sod-cutting ceremony for a mechanized borehole project donated by Republic Bank Ghana.
According to Mr Kpotosu, resolving the furniture challenge at the school is a top priority, and practical steps are being taken to ensure students have access to adequate desks and furniture to support teaching and learning.
“No student should be forced to study under uncomfortable conditions. The concerns raised by the school authorities are legitimate, and I want to assure the management, students, and parents that very soon, the furniture deficit at Taviefe SHS will be resolved,” the MP stated.
He also commended Republic Bank Ghana for its corporate social responsibility initiative, describing the mechanized borehole project as timely and essential in providing potable water to students and staff.
The Headmaster, Mr Sadrack Abiwu, expressed gratitude to the bank for the intervention and highlighted the school’s ongoing challenges, particularly the shortage of furniture, which affects academic work.
The sod-cutting ceremony brought together school authorities, traditional leaders, Republic Bank officials, and community members, who praised the collaboration between the private sector and government in supporting education.
With the MP’s assurance, students and staff of Taviefe SHS remain hopeful that their learning environment will soon improve, reflecting the government’s commitment to quality education in the Ho Municipality.
