Asante Kotoko assistant coach Prince Owusu has acknowledged the challenging period the club is facing but expressed confidence that the team will overcome it.

Owusu spoke after the Porcupine Warriors secured a 2-2 draw against Medeama SC on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, a result that keeps Kotoko in contention despite ongoing struggles.

The coach pointed to a series of injuries affecting the squad and suggested that the upcoming transfer window could provide an opportunity to strengthen the team.

“As you said, there are a lot of injuries. The window is going to open very soon, so we can bring in some new players. But I’m not disappointed. The only game we lost that hurt me was against Holy Stars. For the rest, the boys gave very good performances,” Owusu said.

He added that the team’s spirit remains strong despite the difficulties. “We are going through hell, but we will survive,” he said.

The draw leaves Asante Kotoko in fifth place on the league table with 21 points. They will face Hohoe United in Matchday 13 at the Hohoe Stadium.
