The funeral of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, is currently underway at Black Star Square.
The state-assisted burial has brought together government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional leaders, political figures, and members of the public, all gathered to honour the legacy of a woman who played a pivotal role in Ghana’s political and social transformation.
Dignitaries and family members have filed past her casket, paying their respects to the former First Lady.
The national farewell follows a requiem mass held on Wednesday at Accra Ridge Church, where family, friends, and prominent figures delivered heartfelt tributes, highlighting the profound impact of her contributions to Ghana’s development.
Nana Konadu, wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, was Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady, serving across both military and civilian administrations led by her husband.
