I am worried about our injury situation – Kotoko coach Karim Zito

-

Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has admitted that the club’s growing injury list is taking a toll on his work, describing the situation as one that demands exceptional resilience.

His comments came after Kotoko were held to a 1-1 draw on Sunday in their Matchday 10 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Despite remaining the only side yet to taste defeat this season, Zito said the constant setbacks are weighing heavily on his plans.

“Not losing and getting one point is better, but I’m not trying to find excuses,” he said.

“What I’m going through in this club is not easy. If you don’t have mental toughness, you can’t. Every day of the week, some player will get injured.”

He revealed that forward Dauda Saaka had to be pushed into action despite not being fully fit.

“I had to force Dauda Saaka to play. I have to use what I have to get what I want, though we couldn’t achieve the target,” he added.

Kotoko return to the Baba Yara Stadium today to face Young Apostles in an outstanding league match, before heading to Nsenkyire Sports Complex for a weekend clash against FC Samartex in Matchday 11.
