The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has announced that her final funeral rites will be held on Friday, 28 November 2025, at Independence Square in Accra.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Oheneba Akwasi Abayie, Otumfuo Akomforehene, said the ceremony will commence early in the morning.

“The funeral activities will start at 6 am with the arrival of the cortege at Independence Square, Accra,” the family said in a Facebook post.

They expressed profound appreciation to all who have supported them since her passing, acknowledging the overwhelming public sympathy.

Mourners have been instructed to strictly adhere to the dress code for the day. According to the family, “Attire for the funeral is black, and there will be no official cloth for the ceremony.”

The service is open to the general public, with security and protocol officers expected to direct attendees to their seats and ensure order throughout the event.

The family further clarified that this gathering at Independence Square constitutes the full and final funeral rites—no additional ceremonies will follow after the burial.

They also appealed for punctuality and cooperation from all mourners.

“We urge mourners to come in early and adhere strictly to the directives of the security and protocol team so we can have an orderly process at the burial ceremony,” the statement added.
