Fire destroys three-bedroom house at Nsawam-Ahodjo

A late-night fire has destroyed parts of a three-bedroom house at Nsawam-Ahodjo Old Town, prompting a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service.

The Suhum Municipal Fire Station received a distress call at 12:10 a.m. and dispatched a six-member crew, led by STNO II Antwi Forson, within two minutes.

Residents reported seeing smoke rising from the roof before alerting emergency services.

Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames and quickly deployed a charged hose line to contain the blaze. The fire was brought under control within an hour and fully extinguished in nearly two hours.

The incident caused significant damage, destroying a refrigerator, mattress, ceiling fan, cooking utensils, and several personal belongings. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Fire officers have launched investigations to determine the cause of the blaze.
