Derrick Kohn rejoins Black Stars ahead of Japan and South Korea friendlies

-

Left-back Derrick Kohn has been called up to the Black Stars for Ghana’s upcoming friendlies, Union Berlin have confirmed.

The German-born defender is expected to make his debut as Ghana embarks on an Asian tour, taking on Japan and South Korea.

Kohn had previously been called up by coach Otto Addo but was unable to feature in competitive matches due to delays in completing his nationality switch. With that now resolved, he is set to play in the Black Stars’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has yet to release the official squad list for the matches.

Ghana will face Japan on Friday, November 14, in the Kirin Challenge Cup, before clashing with South Korea four days later.

These friendlies form part of the team’s build-up to the 2026 World Cup, following their absence from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
