Nkawkaw police arrest 17 suspected drug users during demolition exercise

Seventeen individuals suspected of drug use have been arrested by the Nkawkaw Police Command during a swoop operation conducted alongside a demolition exercise.

The operation targeted persons allegedly engaging in illegal activities around the demolition site. According to police sources, the suspects were caught smoking substances believed to be Indian hemp and obstructing the exercise.

Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, ACP Tamimu Halidu, confirmed the arrests to Adom News, stating that all seventeen suspects are currently in police custody and will undergo screening before being arraigned in court.

He emphasized that the police remain committed to maintaining law and order during such operations and warned residents against using demolition or construction activities as cover for criminal behavior.
