Students of the College of Health, Yamfo, in the Ahafo Region are appealing to President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister of Health to reconsider the decision to transfer the school’s Director, Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Ibrahim.
At a press conference, SRC President Yeboah Dennis Nkrumah said both students and staff were unhappy with the development, describing Dr. Ibrahim’s leadership as transformational and crucial to the institution’s growth.
According to him, the Director’s efforts had helped resolve long-standing challenges, including inadequate accommodation and lecture halls, resulting in increased student enrollment and improved academic performance.
“Since Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim assumed office, the College of Health, Yamfo has risen to become one of the best in the country. His transfer will greatly affect our progress,” he stated.
TEIN Women Commissioners, Boakye Pokuaa Agnes and Irene Affum Bema, also praised Dr. Ibrahim, noting that campus security had significantly improved under his leadership through the installation of CCTV cameras and the construction of a perimeter wall.
The students are urging authorities to reconsider the transfer, insisting that Dr. Ibrahim’s continued leadership is vital to the school’s ongoing development.
