New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says he is confident that delegates in Tano North will once again rally behind his candidature in the 2026 presidential primaries, predicting a 90 percent victory margin.
Addressing party members during his first day of campaigning in the Ahafo Region, which also took him to Tano South and Asutifi North, Dr. Bawumia expressed appreciation for their continued support and recalled the overwhelming endorsement he received in the 2023 primaries.
“I am excited today. I know I’m always welcomed in Tano North. I want to express my appreciation for the support in 2023. I garnered 84% of the votes. In the same vein, I urge you to replicate the support in 2026. This time round, I know that the support will be 90%. A win for me is a win for Tano North,” he said to enthusiastic applause from delegates.
His message during the Ahafo tour reaffirmed his broader campaign theme — one built on continuity, inclusiveness, and innovation.
Dr. Bawumia reiterated that his development agenda places strong emphasis on private sector involvement as a driver of national growth.
According to him, private investment will play a key role in addressing Ghana’s road infrastructure challenges while government focuses on community linkages through feeder and inter-town roads.
He also underscored his commitment to grassroots participation in governance, promising to empower local communities and ensure their priorities influence national decision-making.
Presenting himself as a unifier, Dr. Bawumia once again assured party members of his intention to bridge internal divisions within the NPP. He maintained that party unity will be vital to securing a decisive victory in the 2028 general elections.
His visit to the Ahafo Region marks the third leg of his nationwide campaign to consolidate support across the party’s base as he seeks to lead the NPP into the next election.
