NHIA storms Enchi markets with health insurance sensitization

-

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has intensified its public sensitisation efforts with a community outreach in the Aowin Municipality, taking to the streets and markets of Enchi to promote enrolment and renewal under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Officials of the Authority, dressed in NHIA-branded attire and equipped with megaphones, flyers, and banners, moved through the busy streets, engaging traders, drivers, and residents.

Their mission was to educate the public on the value of maintaining an active NHIS card, which guarantees access to quality healthcare at accredited facilities across the country.

The exercise also focused on creating awareness of the NHIA’s digital renewal system, which allows members to conveniently renew their cards by dialling *929#.

Western North Regional Director of the NHIA, Frank Duku, said the initiative aims to ensure that every resident of the Aowin Municipality is covered under the health insurance scheme.

He emphasized that no one should be denied healthcare due to a lack of information or access, stressing that health is a basic right the NHIS seeks to uphold.

Suaman District Manager of the NHIA, Samuel Cudjoe, also reiterated the Authority’s commitment to achieving universal healthcare coverage by 2030.

He urged residents to take advantage of the scheme to secure reliable and affordable healthcare for themselves and their families.
