Ghanaian Afrofusion artiste, McDonald Adotey Braide, better known as Kojo Blak, has revealed he had to drop out of two universities to focus more on his music career.

According to him, it was a bold step he made at the initial stage of his musical journey, hoping to see the light one day.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Showbiz Review, hosted by Adu Kumi, the singer said he felt that music was the path that would take him to places, although his father was not in support of that.

“I was a science student, but I dropped out of two universities, Legon and UPSA. It was not financial; I knew music was the thing for me,” he said

Kojo Blak draws his musical inspiration from highlife legends like E.T. Mensah, OSIBISA, Nana Ampadu, and Daddy Lumba and his artistic influence from his childhood idols like Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, and the Fugees to tell stories about struggle, love and heartbreak, vulnerability, and perseverance as experienced by him and his community.
