Prosper Narteh Ogum salutes Asante Kotoko after advancing in CAF Confed. Cup

Former Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has lauded the Porcupine Warriors for advancing to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ghana FA Cup holders booked their place in the second round of the qualifiers after edging Nigeria’s Kwara United 5-3 on aggregate.

Kotoko claimed a thrilling 4-3 victory in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium before grinding out a narrow 1-0 win in the return fixture.

“I congratulate Asante Kotoko for the good work they have done by qualifying for the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup,” Narteh Ogum told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

Kotoko will now face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club later this month in what promises to be a stern test.

Ahead of that tie, Narteh Ogum urged the team to remain disciplined and united.

“They must stay united and focused with that; they can win every game on the continent because the name of the club alone is well known, and when they stay focused and united, nothing can stop Asante Kotoko from reaching their target,” he added.

Away from club football, Narteh Ogum is currently leading Ghana’s Black Starlets, who have secured a place in the final of the ongoing WAFU B U-17 Championship.

The young side will face tournament hosts Ivory Coast on Friday, October 3.
