The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, has called on pastors to collaborate with the district assembly to accelerate development in the area.
Speaking at a meeting with pastors in Hwidiem, Mr. Donkor noted that the district faces several developmental challenges that require collective effort to address.
He emphasized that the active involvement of religious leaders could help improve living conditions and enhance socio-economic growth.
“The input from pastors during this meeting gives me confidence that the clergy are ready to work with the assembly to bring meaningful development to the district,” he said.
Secretary of the Hwidiem Local Council of Churches, Pastor Christian Yaw Kumah, commended the DCE for creating a platform for dialogue.
He said the meeting allowed the pastors to highlight key issues facing churches in the district, such as high land stool charges and theft.
According to Pastor Kumah, the clergy are optimistic that these concerns will be addressed before the end of the DCE’s tenure, paving the way for a stronger partnership between the church and the assembly.
